Materia medica = Medical material in latin
Homoeopathic materia medica = A record of the pathogenetic
effects of medicines(Hughes), derived primarily from proving the
drug on healthy human beings, supplemented by noting effects of
its overdosing and toxicity, and clinical symptoms during its
application on the sick.
