Dr. Christian
Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann was born in the early hours of
Friday, in the 11th April, 1755 in Germany. This was recorded in
the church register of Frauen-kirche in Meissen and has been
corroborated by all the biographers of Hahnemann. But Hahnemann
in his autobiography, wrote “ I was born on April 10th of 1755.”
Thus his birthday is observed and celebrated on 10th of April,
and we are celebrating his 252th birthday this year.
About this great master Bradford described in the life and
letters of Hahnemann as: “ Scholar whom scholars honoured and
respected; physician whom physicians feared; philologist with
whom philologists dreaded to dispute; chemist who taught
chemists, philosopher whom adversity nor honour had power to
change.”
Hahnemann is one
of the figures standing out boldly from the canvas of that great
century on which are painted the exploits of many remarkable
men.
Hahnemann
basically an Allopathic MD was not satisfied with the Allopathic
system of medicine because of its injurious effects, so he left
it & discovered Homoeopathy which he found the Ideal & Natural
Science & best therapeutic system of medicine. Hahnemann
believed that his discovery of Homoeopathy was a gift to him
from God in trust for the benefit of his fellow men which he
practised throughout of his life. So we Hahnemannian Homoeopaths
are lucky enough to have this Divine gift of Homoeopathy in our
hands to serve suffering humanity, to help them out of their
miserable conditions in the best way, by providing them a
Highest Ideal of Cure as it is the duty & only mission of
every Homeopath to restore the sick to health & this is The
Message of our Master.
At present there
are nearly 186 homeopathic medical colleges in India.
Approximately 35 are government colleges, rest are managed by
private bodies. Homeopathy is the third most popular method of
treatment in India, after Allopathy and Ayurveda and it is
estimated that there are about quarter million homeopaths in
India. Nearly 10,000 new ones add to this number every year.
But the question is:
1. How many of us are TRUE HOMOEOPATHS who practice Homoeopathy
according to the guidelines given by our Master in his Organon
of Medicine.
2. How many of us provide Highest Ideal of Cure to the suffering
humanity?
3. In spite of having this huge number of Homoeopaths in India &
in spite of the fact that Homoeopathy is the Ideal & Natural
Science & best therapeutic system of medicine:
4. Why we did not get its Deserving Value & status in the
country?
5. Why most of the Homoeopaths are looked down by others &
considered as Quacks?
6. Why Homoeopathy is not treated in a better way than other
systems of medicines or at least equally as other systems of
medicine are treated by Govt. of India?
7. Why are we getting the LEAST AMOUNT of the finance from the
Govt. for the upliftment of Homoeopathy?
8. Though this is the only system of medicine which provides
HIGHEST IDEAL OF CURE, why patients are not coming to us
directly instead of trying other Systems of medicine first?
Answer yourself.
Let us see what people say about Homoeopathy:
1. Homoeopathy is a good science but it takes time for
improvement.
2. Complaints are ameliorated till the patient is taking the
treatment.
3. Even in the Lancet report we know it is tried to prove that
Homoeopathic medicines are just placebos.
What are the Reasons?
1. Either the science is deficient OR
2. Present day physicians are not efficient.
Our Homoeopathic
science has no deficiency as it is based on Law of Similars
which is fundamental truth, deduced logically & established
experimentally.
So definitely we are committing errors somewhere. & there are
certain Master Hahnemann has mentioned a rapid, gentle &
permanent restoration of health but, in reality we hardly get to
see such a cure.
This type of cure
can be achieved by those Physicians only who have the following
types of Knowledges according to Aphorism number three of
Organon of Medicine:
1. Knowledge of
diseases. About the etiology, pathogenesis & signs & symptoms of
the diseases we should must know as the diseases are our enemies
against which we have to fight. So if we know our enemies in a
best way we can easily kill them.
2. Knowledge of
medicinal powers i.e. the therapeutic properties or the inner
nature of the drugs, which are our tools to fight against our
enemies i.e. diseases. This can be ascertained by PROVING OF THE
MEDICINES on the healthy human beings. But the dedicated Provers
are not available now a days easily. Most of the medicines are
being proved by keeping them under the pillow & not as per the
instructions given in the Bible of Hom. ie Organon of Medicine.
Approximately more than 3000 medicines are there in the
armamentarium of Hom. But how many of them are well proved,
tested clinically & are authentic? So partially proved medicines
are sometimes relied upon in the treatment of the patient which
are not giving the expected results to the physician & increases
its lack of faith & confidence in Hom.
3. Knowledge of
the choice of the remedy, how to find the similimum. The above
said knowledge of disease & the knowledge of the medicine is
must to find the similimum. Because the symptoms of the diseased
person contains the symptoms of the disease, he is suffering
from & the symptoms of the patient. And we have to prescribe for
the patient & not for the disease, as we treat the patient in
disease & not the disease in the patient. So before prescribing
the medicine for any particular patient we can keep aside the
symptoms of the disease & can prescribe for the symptoms of the
patient on the basis of Individualization. e.g. Ten patients
suffering from any disease e.g. Diabetes, Asthma, Gout, Eczema,
or even for simple headache, will not get the same medicine as
in Allopathy but will get different different medicines
according to their own genetic constitutions. So Homoeopathic
medicines are prescribed on the basis of concept of
Individualization, which is not very easy job. Most of the times
we prescribe the patient without getting his required totality
of symptoms. It is because of lack of proper knowledge of
case-taking. And as it is said that A PROPER CASE TAKEN IS HALF
THE FIELD WON. So we don’t get the results of our selected
medicine without proper case taking. Only one single, medicine
must be used at a time and there is no scope of poly-pharmacy.
Poly-pharmacy should be stopped immediately. Rather the action
should be taken against those Pharmaceutical companies who makes
these combinations in the name of Homoeopathy. These are not at
all Homoeopathic as they disobey the very principal on which the
science of Homoeopathy is based.
4. Knowledge of exact mode of preparation of Homoeopathic
medicines. Now a days it is quite easy as the medicines are
being prepared by many Pharmaceutical companies & are readily
available on demand.
5. Knowledge of quantity of medicine required (proper dose). We
know that the dose should be minimum, according to the Law of
Minimum, to stimulate the human organism & to produce
perceptible change & it varies in each patient according to his
susceptibility. The potency selection is the next difficult task
after the selection of right Homoeopathic medicine. The wrong
potency sometimes don’t give expected results or can cause
aggravation of the complaints unnecessarily. But for this
potency selection there is not any hard & fast rule & it is been
a controversial issue till today though there are some broad
guidelines are present in the literature. Some physicians are
known as high potency prescriber & some are known as low or
medium potency prescriber. So to get the good results one should
be cautious before selecting the potency.
6. Knowledge of Proper period for repeating the dose. First
prescription can be given by any body comparatively easily but
this is very difficult task to prescribe second prescription.
Because unnecessary repetition of the dose when not required can
disturb the process of recovery & no repetition of the dose when
it is required as after the action of the first dose exhausted,
will not complete the cure. The second dose may be the same
medicine in the same potency, or the same medicine in the higher
or lower potency, or any other medicine depending upon the
symptoms calling for that. It may be complementary or antidotal
medicine. Most of the Homoeopaths commit mistake in the second
prescription.
7. The Knowledge
of the obstacles to recovery ( Maintaining causes ) in each case
and how to remove them, so that the restoration may be
permanent. Because if there are maintaining causes during the
treatment of the patient, the complete cure will not be achieved
until we remove them.
After knowing
these things only he can understand how to treat judiciously and
rationally, and then only he will be a true practitioner of the
healing art.
Do we have above said knowledge?
Answer yourself.
If we don’t have the basic knowledge of Homoeopathy, we will
lack the faith in the science & lack of confidence in ourselves.
And even after holding a degree in our hands will not be able to
practice the science properly. So we try to treat our patients
at any cost & by any means , it may be using combination of
various Homoeopathic medicines, or using allopathic medicines
along with Homoeopathic medicines we play a role of MONGERAL
SECT as Dr Hahnemann has very rightly said. Then we play
with the life of the patients as we render the patients
sometimes incurable or difficult to treat even for a Skilled
homoeopath which gives bad name to the science & pain to the
soul of OUR MASTER.
It is all because
of the fact that we don’t study & follow the basic principals of
Homoeopathy & its literature, Organon of medicine, Materia
Medica & Repertory etc. Organon of medicine, which is our Bible
is considered as most boring subject. As it is very difficult to
practice any religion Judiciously without reading its Holly Book
or without knowing its basic principals, the same way its not
possible to practice Hahnemannian Homoeopathy without knowing
its principals or without understanding Organon of medicine
properly.
Dear friends
Homoeopathic practice is not a child’s play. It is a science &
requires a very hard work to understand it. If we can’t do hard
work, we don’t have any right to play with the lives of the
patients. There is no place of a lazy man in Homoeopathy & every
body is not fit for Homoeopathy. So today on the birthday of our
Great Master Hahnemann let us promise with Him that we will
practice Homoeopathy as He taught us, so that we can serve
suffering humanity by providing it Highest Ideal of Cure which
is our duty & only mission. |
