I. Write the construction of the following Materia Medicas with five characteristic features of each:
1. Materia Medica Pura.
2.The Chronic Diseases—Materia Medica Part.
3.The Guiding symptoms.
4.Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica.
5.Cyclopedia of Drug Pathogenesy.(5 x 5 = 25 marks)

I. Write five characteristic indications of the following, in cardiac failure:

  • 1 Lachesis.     2 Convallaria.
  • 3 Iberis.          4 Strophanthus.
  • 5 Spartiüm scoparium.   (5 x 5 = 25 marks)

III. Compare and contrast the following with five characteristic symptoms :—

  • 1 Lycopodium and Ocimum Canum in urinary calculi.
  • 2 Cistus canadernsis and Con.mac. in glandular affections.
  • 3 Cyclamen and Pulsatilla in female complaints.
  • 4 Belladonna and Ver.Vir in inflammatory conditions.
  • 5 Colocynth and China in pain. (5 x 5 = 25 marks)

IV. Explain “Guiding symptoms”. Write two guiding symptoms of, each of the following

  • 1. Ptela in hepatic affections.
  • 2 .Gymnema in diabetes.
  • 3. Justicia Adhatoda in cough.
  • 4. Sphingurus in alopecia.
  • 5. Bothrops in gangrene.
  • 6. Medicago sativa as a tonic.
  • 7. Cascarilla in constipation.
  • 8. Mygale in nerve affections.
  • 9. Myrestica sebifera as an antiseptic medicine.
  • 10. Solanum tuberosum aegrotans in rectal complaints.
  • 11. Thyroidinum in Thyroid gland affections.

I. Explain “Nosodes”. Write the name of six nosodes prepared from tuberculosis with four characteristic symptoms of each. (1+ 24 = 25 marks)

11. Write five indications of the following in bone affections

  • 1.Silicea. 2 Natrum Silico fluorecum.
  • 3.Calcarea carb. 4 Hecla Lava.

111. Compare and contrast the following with their five characteristic symptoms

  • 1 Phosphoric acid and Muriatic acid in typhoid fever.
  • 2 Stannum met and Carbon tetrachloride in worm trouble.
  • 3 Merc.Sol and Hep.Sulph in tansellitis.
  • 4 Plumbum met. and Causticum in paralysis.

IV.1.Make synthetic study of magnesium group of medicines with their flue characteristic symptoms.

1. Make synthetic study of medicines prepared from milk products with their five characteristic symptoms.

2. Make analytic study of its five members with four characteristic symptoms of each (5 + 20 = 25 marks)

II. Explain “Imponderablia” Write three characteristics symptoms of any eight medicines which belong to imponderablia. (1+ 24 = 25 marks)

III. Compare and contrast the following with their five characteristic symptoms

  • 1. Sangunaria and grindelia in pulmonary oedema
  • 2. Lycopodium and carduus marianus in portal Hypertension
  • 3 Cannabis sativa and paeonia in affections of perineum.
  • 4. Sec-cor and Ustilagô in female complaints.
