 Everything for a BHMS Student

Central Council of homeopathy – CCH
In 1973 the Indian Parliament passed Homeopathic central council bill and accordingly Homeopathic Central Council was established in 1974. This council is the controlling authority of the educational and practice of Homoeopathy in India.

Duration
: Five and Half years
Including one year house job

Number of subjects : 12 (Anatomy to Repertory)

Syllabus, curriculum, duration of course, prescribed text books, methodology of teaching etc are same for allopathic and homeopathic students. Instead of allopathic pharmacology homeopathic students has to study materia medica, organon of medicine, pharmacy and repertory.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Intermediate Science (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects or equivalent.
  • Attained the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of his admission to the first year of the course.
  • Blind (including color blind), deaf and/or dumb candidates shall not be allowed for admission in the course.

Course of Study
The degree Course of B.H.M.S. (Degree) shall comprise a Course of study consisting of Curriculum and Syllabus provided in these regulations spread over a period of 51/2 years, including compulsory internship of one year duration after passing the Final Degree Examination;
Every candidate after passing the final BHMS examination, shall undergo compulsory internship fro a period of twelve months as per the proceduer laid down in Annexure ‘A’ attached to these regulations..

On successful completion of the Internship and on the recommendation of the Principal of the Homeopathic College concerned, the concerned University shall issue the Degree to such candidates.

Physiology including Biochemistry
Organon of Medicine, Principles of Homeopathic Philosophy and Psychology.
Homeopathic Pharmacy.
Homeopathic Materia Medica & Therapeutics
Pathology and Microbiology
Forensic medicine and Toxicology
Practice of Medicine.
Surgery.
Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Community Medicine.
Case taking and repertory.

    Hi, I have passed BHMS in 2006. And done jobe in many hospitals in ahmedabad as medical officer. I have gained good knowledge equivalent to a M.D. Physician. And can handle each medical emergency. Presently I am doing job in very well known cardiac hospital in ahmedabad. Can you please guide me if there is any opportunity to go abroad in gulf countries? Especially Qatar??? Is BHMS degree valid in Qatar or any other gulf country?

    My son is studying I Year BHMS in Govt College in Rajahmundry E.g.Dist. Andhrapradesh. I wish to know that is the BHMS degree is valid to write the India Forest Service Exam or Not?. Is he eligible to wrtie the Civil Services Exam or Other UPSC examps like Combined Medical Services Exam.
